Role Overview
This role is not for the faint-hearted—it’s for the bold, compassionate, and tech-savvy clinician ready to grow into the future of oncology care. The Clinical Officer will be pivotal in triaging and managing both new and ongoing cancer patients, coordinating services, and supporting every step of the clinical care continuum—from history taking to diagnosis, treatment planning, data entry, and patient support.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with the CEO and a team of care managers and admin staff to deliver seamless, high-impact outpatient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, triage, and follow-up on oncology patients in the outpatient setting
- Take histories, perform physical exams, and formulate diagnostic impressions
- Order and interpret relevant lab tests and imaging studies
- Participate in treatment planning, chemotherapy prep, and patient counselling
- Coordinate day-to-day clinical workflows and assist in emergency responses
- Guide patients on prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
- Support clinical data entry, report writing, and research activities
- Handle medical documentation for insurance and referral purposes
- Foster compassionate, clear communication with patients and caregivers
- Engage in continuous learning and strategic clinic growth initiatives
Work Schedule
- Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (with flexibility for clinical demands)
- Weekends: On-call (phone support only)
Qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution
- Minimum 3 years post-internship experience preferred (all are welcome to apply)
- Valid license from the Clinical Officers Council (COC)
- Computer literate with relevant certifications
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence in clinical care (must-have!)
- Excellent English & Swahili communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Must be a team player, solution-oriented, and self-driven
- Willing to relocate to Nairobi if not already based here
