Role Purpose Statement:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Head of Maintenance (AOC), the Manager Materials and Logistics is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of aircraft materials, spare parts, and logistics operations. The role ensures timely availability of materials, optimizes inventory,
and maintains cost-effective supply chain processes to support Jambojet’s safe and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans for the timely acquisition of aircraft materials, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring adherence to the highest safety standards.
- Implement effective inventory management practices, including demand forecasting, reordering strategies, and stock level optimization.
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favourable terms and conditions, and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure the quality and authenticity of all materials and parts adheres to KCAA/EASA regulations, Jambojet policies, third-party contract terms, aviation industry standards and regulations.
- Optimize supply chain operations to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and enhance overall logistics efficiency.
- Oversee warehousing activities, including the storage, retrieval, and distribution of materials and parts, while managing access to stockrooms ensuring security and compliance with maintenance organization exposition procedures.
- Coordinate transportation logistics for the prompt delivery of materials to maintenance facilities and line stations while ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements for the import and export of aircraft materials and parts.
- Participate in the development and management of budgets for materials and logistics operations, optimizing resource allocation based on business needs and operational requirements.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and external stakeholders to support efficient logistics operations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage team members to foster a cohesive team and achieve objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or a related field from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic airline materials and logistics environment.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage
