Camera Person filming and recording live broadcasts and TV productions in studio and on location, requiring a diploma in Journalism or Media, previous experience as a camera operator and strong audio-visual storytelling skills, in a media production environment, on-site role.

As our Camera Person, you will film and record our live broadcasts and TV productions, making sure every shot looks and sounds its best. You will work closely with producers, presenters and editors, in the studio and on location, to tell stories that inspire and inform our audience.

  • Set up, adjust, operate and pack away cameras for studio shows, live broadcasts and on-location events
  • Adjust lighting and sound to achieve high-quality pictures and audio
  • Set up, troubleshoot and care for camera equipment, lenses and rigs, and report any damage
  • Work with producers and video editors to plan assignments and recording sequences
  • Direct studio and on-location productions when required
  • Suggest creative shots and angles that strengthen the storytelling
  • Obtain the necessary permissions for filming and comply with legal standards
  • Keep the studios and prop room clean and well organised
  • Assist with footage review and give input during editing when needed
  • Submit daily work and equipment reports
  • Take on other duties within your capability as assigned from time to time
  • Diploma in Journalism, Media or a related field
  • Previous experience as a camera operator in a media production environment
  • Strong audio-visual storytelling skills, with a good eye for detail, composition and framing
  • Solid understanding of camera operation, exposure, focus and framing
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to think quickly and solve problems during live broadcasts and shoots
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • A genuine passion for the Christian faith and values aligned with Family Media
