Job Summary:

Safi Organics is seeking a passionate and creative Branding & Communications Lead to drive awareness and uptake of its innovative biochar based organic fertilizer. This role is central to designing and executing strategies that build trust with smallholder farmers, cooperatives, agrodealers, and large-scale off-takers across Kenya. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the agricultural sector and be skilled at blending technical product messaging with compelling outreach strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Safi’s branding and marketing strategy across B2B and B2C channels.
  • Conduct market research and analyze data for trends, insights to inform pricing, positioning, and region go-to-market strategies.
  • Design and execute awareness campaigns tailored to key stakeholders’ – farmers, cooperatives, and resellers.
  • Develop marketing collateral and product efficacy communications including flyers, digital content, blogs, case studies, and videos.
  • In collaboration with the sales and marketing department, organize and facilitate farmer demo days, training workshops, and promotional events.
  • Design and establish communication channels that build and manage relationships with agrodealers, distributors, and institutional clients.
  • Track key performance indicators across sales funnels and outreach efforts.
  • Communicate with the sales and marketing team to ensure brand alignment.
  • Manage projects through various stages of development.
  • Coordinate with the R&D team to translate trial results into market-facing messaging.
  • Support the creation of Safi’s brand identity as a leading provider of regenerative agri-inputs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in agri-input marketing, communications, or sales.
  • Proven experience designing and executing marketing strategies targeting rural or farming communities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into accessible content.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, especially in Kenya.
  • Experience working with agrodealers, cooperatives, and development partners is an added advantage. Creative, proactive, and mission-driven with strong project management skills.
