Associate Product Manager / Product Manager – Embedded Finance Job Zeraki

Associate Product Manager / Product Manager – Embedded Finance Job. Production Jobs In Kenya

Must Read>>>The Interview Playbook: How To Answer Common Questions

We’re looking for a mission-driven Product Manager (or Associate PM) to lead the design and growth of our embedded finance offerings—including Zeraki Pay and Zeraki Wallet, and future products in areas such as prepaid solutions, lending, and embedded insurance.

You’ll help define the product vision, shape strategy, and drive execution. If you’re early in your career, we’ll support you to grow into this leadership—but if you already bring experience, you’ll take ownership of product vision and roadmap from the outset.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of fintech and education, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes initiative, and wants to help schools, parents, and learners thrive financially.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Define and refine the product vision and roadmap, aligning with Zeraki’s mission to improve education access and affordability
  • Use insights from schools, parents, and administrators to shape the direction of our financial tools
  • Ensure every product initiative addresses a real problem in the education ecosystem—whether it’s simplifying school collections or easing fee burdens for families

Product Discovery & Validation

  • Conduct structured discovery with school bursars, principals, parents, and guardians to identify pain points
  • Test assumptions through research, field visits, usability testing, and pilot deployments in educational settings
  • Prioritize solutions that remove friction for schools and create flexibility for families managing education costs

Product Development & Execution

  • Translate product vision into clear specs and collaborate with engineers, designers, and compliance to deliver scalable features
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (banks, insurers, payment processors) to build secure, accessible products tailored for the education sector
  • Oversee the rollout of products that must work in real-world school environments—across geographies, school types, and payment behaviors

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define product success metrics, such as school-level adoption, parent engagement, and transaction growth
  • Monitor how schools and families interact with the products and use this data to inform iteration
  • Drive improvements that increase impact on education affordability and operational efficiency

Go-to-Market & Rollout

  • Support the design and execution of pilot programs with schools and communities
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer experience, and field teams to drive product uptake among parents and school administrators
  • Ensure the full user journey—from awareness to adoption—is intuitive and trusted by all stakeholders in the education space

Qualifications and Skills:

What We’re Looking For

  • We value structured thinking, empathy for users, and high ownership. Whether you’re early in your career or more experienced, you’ll be expected to lead, not follow.

Experience

  • Associate PM: 1–2 years in product, fintech, CX, operations, or similarly analytical roles
  • PM: 3–5 years in product management, ideally in fintech, SaaS, or platforms with financial infrastructure

Skills & Qualities

  • Strong product intuition with the ability to break down complex problems and frame clear solutions
  • Experience (or strong interest) in payments, mobile money, or embedded finance
  • Familiarity with agile development, user research methods, and product analytics tools
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • A fast learner who thrives in ambiguity and takes initiative

Nice to Have

  • Background in EdTech or experience building tools for educational institutions or underserved communities
  • Knowledge of Kenyan or East African fintech regulations or infrastructure
