Aquatics Manager Job Amentum

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the aquatics manager responsible for managing and supervising the aquatic programs for an FMWR activity.
- Assist the program manager with a wide variety of management and administrative tasks associated with operating a fully functional activity that is safe and enjoyable for all participants.
- Participates in and or leads the planning process that results in providing a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.
- Conducts all the necessary coordination of various details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.
- Interviews and selects staff and provides orientation, training and supervision. Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of the program as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate or Graduate Education with a major in General Recreation or one of the appropriate fields or recreation related to the position or at least one-year specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Â
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Must possess a Red Cross CPR Certification
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for at least one (1) year at the time of hire.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Valid country driver’s license and passport.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred
- Shall have Instructor Certification as a lifeguard or water safety instructor in accordance with MWR Policy
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver’s license.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
- Knowledge of and ability to conduct pool chemical testing, adjust chemical imbalances and document the results.Â
- Skill in planning and executing a comprehensive aquatics program that include a variety of aquatics activities which meet the needs of the installation.Â
- Shall possess the ability to analyze and prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to work within the Branch.Â
- Shall be able to manage the use and maintenance of emergency equipment related to the aquatics program.Â
- Shall be capable of developing and overseeing emergency medical and rescue training, public education and other related educational and functional duties.Â
- Ensures all maintenance work, water chemical testing, pool vacuuming, filtration and equipment are within the scope required by preventive medicine standards.Â
- Shall serve as the Subject Matter Expert on aquatics for the installation.
