About the Role

Royal Mabati Factory Limited is looking for an experienced Applications & Software Officer to oversee the management of software applications and operational systems. This role focuses on optimizing software tools, including enterprise applications, to support daily operations and improve productivity in manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain software applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and custom operational software.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of applications to ensure operational efficiency and minimal disruptions in manufacturing workflows.
• Troubleshoot software issues, provide user support, and conduct training sessions for staff on application usage.
• Collaborate with development teams to customize software solutions tailored to manufacturing needs, such as inventory management or quality control systems.
• Manage software updates, patches, and integrations with other IT systems to maintain compatibility and security.
• Analyze system performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for better efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing and data security standards in a manufacturing context.
• Document processes and create reports on application usage and efficiency metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software application management, preferably in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in managing applications like SAP, Oracle, or similar operational systems.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing system efficiency and process optimization.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automation and integration.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent.
• Ability to train users and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes to align software solutions with operational needs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Application Performance:

• Optimize software systems to achieve 100% uptime for core applications; response time under 2 seconds for 99% of transactions.
• Measurement: Application monitoring tools; performance dashboards with real-time alerts.

Ticket Resolution Efficiency:

• Address software-related issues with 100% high-priority tickets resolved within 2 hours; overall MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution) <1 hour.
• Measurement: Integrated with ticketing system; SLA reports submitted weekly to IT Manager.

Paperless Transition Support:

• Achieve 100% migration of manual processes to software within the quarter; zero paper-based errors.
• Measurement: Audit trails in applications; progress tracked via adoption rate metrics (target: 100% user compliance).

User Training and Adoption:

• Conduct sessions to ensure 100% training completion for new users within 1 week of onboarding; adoption rate >95%.
• Measurement: Training attendance logs and application usage analytics; post-training quizzes (pass rate: 100%).

Integration Success Rate:

• Ensure 100% successful integrations per project with zero integration failures.
• Measurement: Project completion logs; integration testing results reviewed quarterly.

Efficiency Gains:

• Quantify improvements with a 20% reduction in process cycle times year-over-year, measured against baseline.
• Measurement: Pre/post-implementation benchmarks; KPI dashboard for IT Manager/management review.

Compliance and Security:

• Maintain a 100% audit pass rate with zero compliance violations or data breaches.
• Measurement: Licensing reports and security scans; annual third-party audit summaries.
