Requirements for appointment

• A degree in any of the following field; Agriculture and Home Economics, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture Economics, Agriculture Extension. Agriculture Education or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Competency in computer applications

Duties and responsibilities

• The officer will be deployed as a subject Matter specialist (SMS) at the County or sub county to coordinate any of the following programmes; Crop Development, Land Development and Environment Management or promotion and development of Agribusiness activities, including Agricultural Value Addition.
• Coordinate all agricultural extension services.
• Organizing and facilitating training programmes in liaison with relevant institutions and agencies to provide and maintain data for effective decision making.
• Staff appraisal, Implementation of performance contract.
• Preparation and implement project work plans of works and budgets.
• Coordinate agricultural show activities for the department.
• Compilation of field reports.
• Implement agricultural value addition projects.
• Any other duties which might be assigned by the County Chief Officer – Agriculture.
