Adult Haemato-oncologist Job KUTRRH

Job Purpose

To provide specialized care for adult patients with haematologic malignancies and disorders, including systemic therapy and multidisciplinary coordination.

  • Diagnose and manage leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma, and related disorders; stage disease and assess risk.
  • Plan and administer systemic anti-cancer therapy; monitor efficacy and toxicity.
  • Coordinate transfusion support, stem cell transplantation referrals, and supportive care.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient haemato-oncology services including urgent care.
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis with patients and families.
  • Contribute to audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Teach and mentor trainees in oncology/haematology principles.
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
  • MMed in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology or other relevant qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
  • Fellowship/sub-specialty training in Haemato-oncology recognized by KMPDC.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Recognition as a specialist/sub-specialist by KMPDC.
  • Retention in the KMPDC register.
  • Valid Practice License from KMPDC.
  • Valid Indemnity Cover.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
