Accounts Payables Job. Accounting Jobs in Kenya

Accounts Payables is the officer responsible for all outflows leaving the hotel coffers and will assist in the production of financial and accounting reports and ensure effective and efficient management of financial and material resources of the organization. They are also in charge of the property’s compliance to tax requirements in computation and timely remitting of all taxes, levies and regulatory charges and licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, verifying and processing invoices from vendors
  • Preparing and executing payments to vendors according to agreed-upon times.
  • Reconciling accounts payable records with vendor statements and bank statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations.
  • Preparing reports on accounts payable activity, including aging reports and payment forecasts.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree/diploma in Finance, Accounting or related business discipline, from a recognized academic institution.
  • Maintain currency of Kenya Taxation code
  • Good knowledge of SUN system & Micros Material control
  • 3 years’ experience working in the Accounts/Finance management function within the hospitality industry.
  • Solid Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and word.
  • CPA (K) or ACCA certifications.
