Our client in the manufacturing industry seeks to hire an Accounts & Administration Officer who will be responsible for maintaining efficient and accurate accounts and supporting general office administration to meet the needs of the business. This role aligns with statutory requirements, the company’s financial policies, and professional accounting best practices. Responsibilities include managing company income, expenditure, tax accounts, utility accounts, bank reconciliation, asset registration, periodic analysis, and reports.

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the Accounts office.
  • Post and update transactions in QuickBooks – Cash Books, Ledgers, etc.
  • Manage Accounts Receivables – invoicing, debt collection, and customer accounts reconciliations.
  • Handle Accounts Payables – preparation of payment requisition vouchers, writing of cheques, and supplier accounts reconciliations.
  • Conduct stock taking.
  • Support general office administration tasks.
  • Maintain filing work.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Assist in filing payroll taxes, withholding, and VAT.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Assist in processing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Review expenses, payroll records, etc.
  • Undertake all other roles or assignments given by management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business from a recognized University.
  • Minimum CPA 2 or a certified accountant (ACCA).
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working as an accountant.
  • Must be conversant with filing taxes (e.g., VAT, PAYE, W/Tax, SHIF).
  • Ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel.
