Account Manager Job

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage key account activities, as well as customer plant responsibilities, for a specified list of accounts:
• Relationship building at all levels of the customer organization
• Comprehensive data gathering and analysis of accounts to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop and execute tailored account strategies that align with DRT’s sales and service objectives.
• Win new business opportunities by identifying customer needs and converting quotes to orders.
• Complete pricing, forecasting, and other contract needs as required
• Primary liaison with the customer to identify and resolve technical problems, and drive new initiatives, and plan and execute trials to meet DRT and customer objectives.
• Gather innovative ideas from the customer and plants to help drive DRT’s R&D strategy.
• Support sustainability initiatives helping to further drive adoption of Metal Packaging solutions in the market.
• Be proactive in meeting customer needs, finding new business opportunities, and executing DRT’s global strategy.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving of field issues as they arise, by engaging and coordinating DRT cross-functional resources to drive swift resolution.
• Manage strategic project and program execution, such as new technology introduction, cost reduction, logistical efficiencies, and using information technologies as competitive advantage.
• Gather and log market and competitive intelligence.
• Travel to and support other regions in DRT global portfolio when required.

Qualifications

• To perform this role successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following:
• Highly motivated self-disciplined capable of working proactively to manage assigned accounts through structured communication, regular customer visits, and detailed data analysis.
• Have an associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or 5 -7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience in the Can Tooling industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) preferred, or 1-3 years’ work experience in the metal packaging industry, either at plant or corporate level.
• Requires a valid passport and ability to travel frequently and easily around Europe.
• Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Knowledge of another European language is beneficial.
