Finance Jobs, Britam Jobs. Investment Research Analyst conducts market research, financial modeling, and asset evaluation, requires a Finance or Economics Degree and 1+ years investment analysis experience. 6 months Contract role in Nairobi.

Job Purpose:

The role exists to support the investment research analyst function in tasks of investment analysis, through the collection of necessary data and market information, and structuring and modelling financial information in a way that increases its usefulness. 

This includes the use of the Bloomberg machine, getting verified information from central banks, National bureau of statistics, assisting in fact sheet drafting, high level screening to check investment opportunities against pre-set multiples and other criteria, drafting of reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, tabulate and synthesize available market information to support research that will optimise the returns of client funds.
  • High level screening to check investment opportunities against pre-set multiples and other criteria, drafting of reports.
  • Come up with first Drafts of reports such as fact sheets, and other reports as requested by the investment analyst or portfolio managers
  • Support the fund management team in developing, launching and distributing new products and enhancing existing products.
  • Take notes at meetings and organize them to show discussions, action items and timelines.
  • Delegated Authority:  As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Statistics or quantitative field.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in formal employment in financial analysis, data modelling, actuarial function or something similar.
  • Experience in dealing with stock markets, macro-economic indicators, and financial statements.

Technical/ Functional competencies:

  • Financial or data modelling skills
  • Knowledge of investments and financial markets
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Report writing skills
