Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Business Management (with an Accounting or Finance option).
• Certification: Must be a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), or Certified Risk Management Assurance Professional (CRMAP).
• Membership: Registered member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in good standing.
• Skills: Good at using computerized audit software. Must maintain high ethical standards, keep information private, and stay professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Make sure the Institute follows all relevant laws and rules.
• Check the Institute’s risks and see how well risks are being managed.
• Create and use proper audit management systems that meet international standards.
• Check the internal controls that protect the Institute’s assets and suggest ways to improve them.
• Make annual audit plans and ensure they are carried out.
• Review budget controls to make sure the school stays within its budget and work plans.
• Coordinate replies to management letters sent by external auditors.
• Plan and run risk-based audits, and write down the results of your audit work.
• Share audit findings and recommendations with senior management.

• Tax Compliance Certificate from the KRA.
• Clearance Certificate from HELB (Drivers do not need this).
• Clearance Certificate from the EACC.
• Credit report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
• Medical report on physical fitness from a registered doctor (Drivers only).
