Responsible for supporting gender and social development programmes, mobilising communities, coordinating awareness activities, collecting social development data, supporting vulnerable groups, promoting gender equality and inclusion, and preparing programme reports. Requires a relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Gender Studies, Sociology, or a related field. The position is based in Iten and requires on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

• The officer will be deployed at the location to assist the local communities and self-help groups to identify their felt needs and mobilize local resources for the implementation of their development projects and mainstream gender in projects /programmes; assist in the identification of persons with disabilities, poor and vulnerable individuals to benefit from the social protection programme.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: –

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- Minus or its equivalent and; ii. Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Social Work, Rehabilitation Studies, Community Development, Social Development, Sociology, Gender Studies, Counselling, Gerontology or Business Administration/ Management from a recognized institution.
