Short-Haul Driver at Victory Farms

Short-Haul Driver position at Victory Farms transporting fresh fish and company goods safely between logistics centers and branches, requiring a valid Driving License Class C with minimum 3 years commercial driving experience and clean driving record, in an aquaculture logistics environment, on-site role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport fresh fish, inputs, and other company goods safely and efficiently between Victory Farms’ logistics centers and to our branches across different regions in Kenya.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
• Promptly report mechanical faults, damages, accidents or safety concerns and adhere strictly to vehicle repair and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain cold-chain integrity and ensure proper handling of perishable products during transportation.
• Plan and adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion, road closures, or delays using navigation tools such as Google Maps and other approved applications.
• Ensure assigned vehicles are adequately fueled, clean, and operational at all times.
• Assist with loading and offloading of products and materials while ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately, including trip logs, fuel records, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
• Comply with all traffic laws, NTSA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain regular communication with the logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress, delays or incidents.
• Safeguard company assets, cargo, and equipment during transit.
• Practice defensive driving techniques and uphold high safety standards at all times.
• Support emergency response procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum KCSE certificate; Diploma or higher qualification is an added advantage.
• Valid Driving License with minimum class C.
• Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in commercial driving.
• Clean driving record with strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and regulations.
• Ability to use navigation applications (Google Maps or similar) effectively.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a positive, proactive work attitude.
• Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
