Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our dynamic Development Advisory team. The role is integral to our advisory services, focusing on driving impact in development projects for clients in sectors such as government, private entities, not-for-profit and international development. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in business development, client management, and mentoring junior staff while leveraging their expertise to provide solutions that contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management and Business Development

• Lead the development and management of client relationships across various sectors, including government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development agencies, and private enterprises.
• Drive new business opportunities by identifying and pursuing potential development advisory projects.
• Develop proposals, pitch decks, and project plans to present tailored solutions to clients.

Project Leadership and Delivery

• Oversee and manage the delivery of development advisory projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in areas such as project design, impact evaluation, capacity building, and policy analysis.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of development projects, coordinating activities and stakeholders.

Strategic Advisory and Analysis

• Advise clients on sustainable development goals (SDGs), policy frameworks, and best practices in program management, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), and impact assessment.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of clients’ development strategies and suggest improvements or adjustments to drive growth and impact.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the international development sector and incorporate them into client strategies.

Mentoring and Team Leadership

• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and consultants, helping them grow professionally and supporting their development on key projects.
• Encourage a collaborative, results-driven environment that fosters knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, international organizations, and community leaders.
• Represent the firm at key industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Reporting and Presentation

• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management, clients, and other stakeholders. Ensure clear, concise, and actionable insights in all deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration).
• A master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 8 – 10 years of experience in development advisory or consulting, with a proven track record in managing complex projects and leading teams.
• Experience in sectors such as government, international development, non-profit, or private sector advisory is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of development frameworks, SDGs, and government policies.
• Experience in donor-funded projects, multi-stakeholder environments, and cross-functional project teams.
