How My First Online Application Got Me a Job Thanks To CSS

How many times have you searched for a job online and halfway through your research, given up because your previous application did not yield any fruits?

Truth is, it can be quite frustrating when your applications are going unanswered.

But what if your next application is the one that gets you the job?

Milton Kiprotich, a customer service representative had been jobless for about three months when his contract at his previous place of work was terminated.

He had tried various platforms all in a bid to secure a job, but nothing was forthcoming.

“It wasn’t easy,” he says.

“I would often get no feedback. So many times I would see an opportunity I felt I qualified for but would receive no communication from the company I had applied to. Truth is, this can leave anyone frustrated and desperate, leading you to apply for all jobs in your industry.

But if there’s something I have learned in my job search, it is that you need to be specific in the jobs you apply to.”

During his job search, Milton would constantly search Corporate Staffing on Google and would go through the job opportunities in his industry to know what was needed and what was being offered.

That is when he came across this Customer Service Job we advertised for our client, Hypermart Limited.

“The application process was okay. About a week after I made my application, I received a call. I was in such a noisy place and I asked whether I could call back. I don’t think I would have been given the chance to call back from any other company. This is something I appreciated.

“I called back and was invited for an online interview which I passed and was later recommended to the client for another interview.

“Throughout the entire process, the recruitment team at Corporate Staffing constantly checked up on me. The impromptu checkup calls made me feel supported. I knew I wasn’t alone.”

Even after going through the interview, Milton was not 100% sure that he would get the job. Looking at the qualifications, he knew he qualified. However, not knowing who his competition was and where he ranked in comparison to them, he was left unsure.

He ultimately got the job!

“This is my first time securing a job online,” he says.

Advice to jobseekers?

“First of all, I would recommend Corporate Staffing to any job seeker out there. This is a genuine firm that will offer you a fair, free, and transparent process.

Secondly, look for a job that suits your qualifications. During the interview, be transparent and honest, and lastly, put God first.”
