CSS On K24 Alfajiri: How To Deal With Challenges In Your Job Hunt

The job hunt process in Kenya is proving difficult every waking day, with employers making it even harder as they demand for experience among job seekers. Unfortunately for most fresh job seekers and anyone who have had a hard time getting a job since their graduation, experience is a hard requirement to acquire.

In light of this, K24 Alfajiri invited Corporate Staffing Services to become part of a discussion on how to deal with job hunt challenges. Represented by Florence Mukunya, a professional CV Writing expert and Perminus Wainaina, the Head of Recruitment and Managing Partner, Corporate Staffing Services was delighted to participate in the discussion.

Amina Abdi moderated the discussion, exploring the various challenges that job seekers have to go through in their daily lives, job application mistakes that job seekers keep making without realizing it and the steps that job seekers can make to avert the challenges.

“What I keep telling candidates looking for entry level positions is that most positions will not be advertised. You have to visit respective websites and check if they have a job opening in your profession,” says Florence in response to a question on how fresh graduates can find jobs.

As the discussion progressed, it emerged that the major reason most candidates go through job hunt challenges is because they do not focus on getting the experience that employers are looking for. “You have to understand that you need to start somewhere, put in the time and be ready to learn as you grow,” says Perminus.
